Guanima Press Ltd announces the launch of its new logo. It was created by artist Neko Meicholas as a tribute to his late wife, Patricia Glinton-Meicholas. It reflects Guanima Press Ltd’s enduring commitment to community, Bahamian culture, history, art, and intellectual heritage.
The redesigned logo features the Gaulin Woman, a powerful figure from Bahamian folklore traditionally known for punishing arrogance and moral blindness.
This iconic figure of Bahamian folklore came to represent Patricia Glinton-Meicholas (1950–2025) whom we affectionately referred to as “the Gaulin Woman” in recognition of her lifelong work in folklore, her role as a tradition bearer, and her tireless efforts to research, preserve, and promote all things Bahamian, including our culture, history, heritage, and identity.
Here, the Gaulin Woman is reimagined not as a symbol of fear but as a symbol of guardianship, cultural memory, and authority grounded in knowledge.
This logo, this tribute, affirms Guanima Press Ltd’s ongoing commitment to cultural stewardship, community engagement, intellectual rigour, and the safeguarding of Bahamian heritage.
